My name is Peyton Stark and I am thrilled to join the Clayborne team as the newest full-time tutor and director of Academic Tutoring. You will likely see me tutoring ACT, SAT, and GRE, as well as math and writing. Whether we are prepping for a test, reviewing for a class, or applying for college, I love helping students grow in confidence and reach their academic goals.
Before coming to Clayborne, I taught undergraduate writing and rhetoric at the University of Arizona. I also taught SAT and ACT workshops and coordinated one-on-one tutoring for several test prep companies in Seattle and South Carolina. I earned my bachelor’s degree and teaching license from the University of Colorado and my master’s degree from the University of Arizona. Needless to say, I’ve lived in a lot of places! Originally from Colorado, I grew up with a love for the outdoors, so when I am not at Clayborne, you’ll probably find me in the mountains. I love to cook and experience new restaurants and I am always looking for recommendations. I’m also an aspiring poet and banjo player, and can’t wait to dive into the Charlottesville music scene.
